About
Brian Doerksen, a multifaceted talent, embodies the roles of songwriter, recording artist, author, conference speaker, and pastor. Raised on the picturesque west coast of Canada in Abbotsford B.C., Brian, now a father of six, continues to reside in the same familial abode where he spent his formative years. His international journey in the late 90s took him to the UK for two years, where he mentored worship leaders and songwriters while crafting acclaimed albums like "Hungry" and "Come Now Is The Time." Returning to Canada, Brian furthered his musical endeavors, collaborating with Vineyard Music and Integrity Music, producing hits like "You Shine," "Hope Of The Nations," and "Refiner’s Fire" that resonate in churches globally.
Brian's musical prowess garnered numerous accolades, including the International Award by the Gospel Music Association in 2003 and multiple Covenant Awards from Canada’s Gospel Music Association, clinching titles such as Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year for "Holy God." His achievements reached new heights with a JUNO Award in 2008 for "Holy God," solidifying his stature in the contemporary Christian music scene. Amidst his musical pursuits, Brian's literary venture emerged with his debut book, "MAKE LOVE, MAKE WAR," published in 2009, showcasing his depth beyond melodies. Additionally, his collaborative effort in creating a musical titled "Prodigal God" alongside playwright Christopher Greco underscores his creative breadth, featuring an original narrative based on Luke 15. As he continues to thrive in his artistry, Brian, alongside his wife Joyce and their six children, remains rooted in their hometown of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
