About
CCM singer/songwriter Daniel Doss began his music career in the mid-2000s while serving as a worship leader at Clarksville, Tennessee's Grace Community Church. The four-piece Daniel Doss Band had already become a regional touring act with a couple of independent releases to their credit when, in 2006, some tracks they'd contributed to a compilation brought them to the attention of leading Christian label (and major-label affiliate) Sparrow Records. Working with Dove Award-winning producer Ed Cash, the Daniel Doss Band recorded their debut album Greater Than Us All in 2008. A follow-up album, Beyond My Reach, arrived two years later via the Mission House label, though it would be the last under the Daniel Doss Band banner. After continuing his ministries in the Midwest for several years, Doss relocated to Nashville and relaunched his recording career as a solo artist with 2017's Praise the King LP.

In the Christian liturgical calendar, there are several different Feasts of the Cross, all of which commemorate the cross used in the crucifixion of Jesus. Unlike Good Friday, which is dedicated to the passion of Christ and the crucifixion, these feast days celebrate the cross itself, as the sign of salvation. Holy Cross Day (September 14, 2021) honors Christ's self-offering on the cross for our salvation.
