In Matthew 4, Jesus was walking along the seashore. He saw a set of brothers fishing in their boat. He called out to them just as He calls out to you now. He said, “Follow Me.” In that moment, Peter and Andrew had a choice to make. Do they go on doing the good work they are doing, paying no mind to the man inviting them to drop everything and follow Him? Or to they take steps of faith, knowing there is something different about this Jesus? Later, Jesus calls Peter the rock on which He would build His church.

We ask to be surrounded, and God sends His mighty waters to immerse us in love. This is our access, and this is our acceptance. It is the heavenly revival of river beds gone dry, awakening dried land through the flowing waters of new life. It is God's greatest desire to use us in this mission for renewal, and as He floods the earth with His presence, He appoints His children as the vessels of His truth. Remembering who God is, His faithfulness in the past, and His promises for the future gives us the confidence to trust God with what's happening right now. We are still human. We still live in a sin-filled world filled with loss, hardships, doubt, stress, and fear. The difference when we face each day with Jesus is that we have the ability to experience joy, peace, love, and security even in hard times.
